Attainment of an industry-recognized certification or credential ensures that students graduate from high school prepared for a globally competitive workplace or postsecondary education. Mooresville Graded School District, Iredell Statesville Schools, and Mitchell Community College provide students with opportunity to earn industry recognized credentials or transfer credits toward college giving them a competitive advantage for a career out of school or postsecondary opportunities.
Master Your Skills in High School
Industry certifications and credentials can be achieved by enrolling in Career and Technical Courses in high school and in partnership through dual-enrollment with Mitchell Community College. Mooresville High School and Iredell-Statesville Schools offer these opportunities to students. Earning industry credentials show potential employers that an individual has the skills and demonstrated mastery to be successful in the workplace and various careers. Courses that result in a credential can also be counted as transferable credits towards an associates degree or 4-year university. Earning credentials is a great way to enhance your resume and college application.
Students who complete courses will take a credential exam at the end of the year. Each student is provided at least two attempts, and the cost is covered by the school system. Learn more about the available pathways to earn a credential or college credit.
